Turkish Technic has secured a pivotal agreement with Rolls-Royce to establish an officially licensed engine maintenance centre at Istanbul Airport. This collaboration marks Turkish Technic’s entry into the Rolls-Royce Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) network, significantly advancing Türkiye’s status as a key player in global aviation services.
The state-of-the-art facility, expected to be operational by the end of 2027, will specialize in servicing Rolls-Royce’s Trent XWB-97, Trent XWB-84, and Trent 7000 engines, which are used to power the Airbus A350 and A330neo aircraft. With a projected capacity of approximately 200 shop visits annually, the centre is set to become one of the largest in the region, enhancing Turkish Technic’s engine maintenance capabilities and reinforcing its competitive edge on the global stage.
This new hub will not only support the Turkish Airlines fleet but also extend services to international customers through Rolls-Royce’s TotalCare programme. In addition to bolstering maintenance operations, the initiative is expected to foster local engineering talent, stimulate domestic supply chains, and contribute to the development of a skilled workforce in the aviation sector.
Prof. Ahmet Bolat, Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee at Turkish Technic, emphasized that the partnership with Rolls-Royce would enable the company to offer cutting-edge maintenance solutions for multiple Trent engine models, affirming their commitment to excellence in service. Rob Watson, President of Rolls-Royce Civil Aerospace, noted that this expansion aligns with their goal to enhance global MRO capacity and underscores their confidence in Turkish Technic’s potential as a premier engine maintenance provider.
