Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal, has called for the rapid and efficient distribution of Chinese-donated agricultural machinery to provincial departments, emphasizing the importance of timely delivery to grassroots organizations.
At a meeting in Islamabad regarding the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Iqbal instructed that the machinery, which includes 40 tractors, 40 multipurpose harvesters, and other essential equipment, be distributed within ten days. The donated machinery is expected to bolster the capacity of agricultural research institutions and support farming communities, contributing significantly to Pakistan’s food security and overall economic growth.
Additionally, the Minister directed the Power Division, Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO), and the Ministry of Maritime Affairs to prioritize the completion of the transmission line to the Gwadar South Free Zone. This would facilitate the early operation of a 1.2 MGD Desalination Plant in the region, aimed at addressing water scarcity challenges.
