The Engine Technology Forum has announced its participation in the 2025 Celebration of Construction on the National Mall, a major public event set to take place May 14–16 in Washington, D.C. The gathering will spotlight the latest advancements in construction technology and workforce development, uniting top equipment manufacturers, innovators, and industry advocates.

Hosted by the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), the event will unfold on the iconic National Mall near the Smithsonian Metro station. Over 30 leading organizations, including the Engine Technology Forum, will present interactive exhibits, live equipment demonstrations, and educational displays showcasing the future of construction in America.

“Construction machines and equipment are the tools that build our economy and shape our world, and they’re doing it more sustainably than ever,” said Allen Schaeffer, executive director of the Engine Technology Forum. He emphasized that nearly all construction equipment today relies on internal combustion engines, with modern diesel technologies delivering near-zero emissions alongside enhanced power and efficiency.

Schaeffer noted that sustainability at construction sites is increasingly driven by smart, connected technologies that optimize fuel usage, as well as renewable biofuels that slash carbon and other emissions by up to 75% compared to traditional fuels.

As part of its contribution to the event, the Engine Technology Forum will showcase its “Engines Work” campaign. The exhibit will spotlight the critical role of advanced diesel engines in modern construction and offer visitors the opportunity to explore live demonstrations, engage with industry experts, and learn how innovation is reshaping the job site.

Open to the public, the Celebration of Construction aims to inform policymakers, media, and the general public about the essential role the construction sector plays in economic growth, infrastructure development, and environmental responsibility.
