Emirates SkyCargo, the air freight division of the Dubai-based Emirates Group, has introduced Aircraft Engines, a specialized service designed for the transport of high-value and oversized aircraft engines.
This offering is a cornerstone of a newly established Aerospace and Engineering vertical within Emirates SkyCargo, aimed at delivering tailored logistics solutions for complex aerospace shipments.
Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President at Emirates SkyCargo, stated, “Handling highly specialized cargo presents unique challenges. With substantial investments in world-class infrastructure across our global network, we are fully equipped to meet these demands. Leveraging our technical expertise, proprietary technology, and purpose-built facilities, we collaborated with key stakeholders to develop Aircraft Engines—a product crafted to manage such valuable and technical cargo at every step.”
Precision Handling and Speed
Aircraft engines require meticulous handling and are often transported urgently for maintenance, repair, or replacement. Emirates SkyCargo’s Aircraft Engines product employs certified loadmasters to oversee the entire shipment process, from loading to unloading, using specialized equipment such as shock-absorbing transport dollies.
A dedicated control tower team monitors each shipment closely to guarantee timely delivery. Clients can also opt for advanced track-and-trace technology, providing real-time updates throughout the transit.
Shipments under this product receive the highest priority, supported by a global network of experts based in key cities. Customers benefit from a dedicated hotline and email support for expert consultation.
A Strategic Aerospace and Engineering Focus
The newly formed Aerospace and Engineering vertical reflects Emirates SkyCargo’s commitment to serving sectors demanding “high precision, specialized handling, and speed.” This includes aviation, defence, space industries, aircraft manufacturers, satellite producers, and government agencies requiring secure and efficient transport solutions.
Besides Aircraft Engines, this vertical encompasses Emirates’ Aircraft on Ground (AOG) service, designed for urgent aircraft parts delivery. The carrier recently upgraded this offering with new “Must Go” bags marked ‘CARGO’ to emphasize expedited handling.
Emirates SkyCargo moves hundreds of aircraft engines annually and has participated in notable aerospace shipments, including the transport of KhalifaSat—the UAE’s first locally engineered satellite—from Dubai to South Korea. The airline also facilitated nanosatellite deliveries from Paris to Auckland, ahead of their launch for global Internet of Things connectivity.
Expanding Service Portfolio
Aircraft Engines is among several new products Emirates SkyCargo has launched recently. In April, the airline unveiled Emirates Courier Express, an end-to-end delivery service boasting an average delivery time under 48 hours. This solution was piloted with global customers to prioritize speed, reliability, and flexibility, handling thousands of packages across multiple countries over the past year.
Emirates SkyCargo continues to expand its aerospace-focused offerings, developing additional subcategories within the Aerospace and Engineering vertical to meet evolving industry needs.
